Dr. Timothy Ryschon
Pediatric Department

Dr. Tim Ryschon is residency-trained in pediatrics – a specialty he chose because of the opportunity that exists in children to impact health for a lifetime.  Dr. Ryschon completed medical school at the University of Nebraska, and Pediatric Residency at the University of Utah Before pursuing an intensive focus in cellular energy metabolism at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a fellow of the Pediatric Scientist Development Program.  While at NIH, Dr. Ryschon used magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy techniques to track chemical changes in muscle and brain leading to metabolism insights he has applied for the last 10 years as the medical director of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Diabetes Prevention Program in Rosebud, South Dakota. 

He is the Executive Director and Board President of the Minnechaduza Foundation and a public charity advocate dedicated to health improvement of Great Plains dwellers. He is also the medical director of the Heart City Child Advocacy Center in Valentine, Nebraska and practices general pediatrics through offices in Norfolk, Valentine, and Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Rosebud, South Dakota. Dr. Ryschon is particularly interested in sleep disorders of infants, children, and adolescents and how sleep influences day-time activities, energy metabolism, obesity risk, and diabetes prevention.

Dr. Ryschon enjoys running, cycling, skiing and climbing.  His focus at the Colorado SleepCenter of the Rockies® is to help children, their parents, and their health care practitioners to understand and correct childhood sleep disorders, therein promoting each child’s fullest life-time potential.
