Dr. Richard J. Schumann

Richard J. Schumann, MD, is board certified in Neurology, Psychiatry, and Sleep Medicine. He has considerable experience in Clinical Neurology, spending eight years at the Chesapeake Neurology Services center. He also served as the Medical Director of Sleep Center Networks which is part of Christiana Care Health Initiatives. In this role

Dr. Schumann and his team evaluated patients by monitoring and recording brain waves, heart rates, blood oxygen levels, breathing, eye movements, and much more. With this information the team worked to uncover the source of sleep problems and to develop personalized treatment options based on an individual’s specific patterns and needs. As President of Colorado SleepCenter of the Rockies®, Dr. Schumann is wholeheartedly committed to raising the bar for the study and treatment of sleep disorders in Colorado. His ultimate goal is to bring relief and balance to his patients by ensuring that a good night’s sleep is part of their everyday lives.

Dr. Schumann received his professional training from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and the Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He also spent time at UC Davis to complete his Residency in Neurology; following that up with a Clinical Fellowship in Neurophysiology and Sleep Medicine.
