This accreditation is considered the gold standard in which the medica community and the public evaluate sleep medicine facilities.

Observations and Inquiries Regarding:

  • Snoring
  • Apneas
  • Nocturnal Choking or Gasping
  • Restlessness
  • Excessive Daytime Sleepiness
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
  • History of Tonsillectomy

Patients with the following are at Increased Risk for Sleep Related Breathing Disorder:

  • Obesity
  • Hypertension

*If you choose to refer the patient directly for a Polysomnographic study without prior Sleep Medicine consultation, we require a History and Physical exam that includes the above information.

“When a Person with Excessive Daytime Sleepiness has a Sleep Questionnaire Suggestive of a Sleep Related Breathing Disorder and also has an Elevated BMI (Body Mass Index) there is an increased risk of sleep apnea but this can only be diagnosed with an overnight Polysonmogram.”
