Dr. Julie M. Brauns
Psychology Department

Dr. Brauns is an experienced clinical psychologist with an emphasis on individual outpatient psychotherapy. She has extensive training in the area of DBT or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and she is also Level II certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). Dr. Brauns applies a blend of these advanced therapies with traditional strategies to help patients find relief from severe anxiety, trauma, mood and adjustment disorders. She also stresses the importance of relaxation, coping skills and stress management training.

For nine years Dr. Brauns has worked as a top mental health therapist and private-practice clinical psychologist in Colorado and she is extremely excited to apply her experience at the Colorado SleepCenter of the Rockies. Dr. Brauns completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the California school of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, CA (now called Alliant International University).
